Excellent space. Very comfortable. Easy seat arrangement. The 1.4 TSI is not super quick but sufficient.

These vehicles are not sold new in NZ so it wasn't easy to find one, let alone test drive one. But as this is our third Volswagen, we were comfortable that we were purchasing a very well built and reliable vehicle. It has a great deal of space inside with a significant amount of configuration possibilities, especially with the seating options. This was a big factor in our decision process. There are multiple storage options to cater to our needs when transporting 4 children. It even has two reasonably sized storage bins in the foot well on the floor directly behind the front seats. The middle row of seats can slide and partially recline individually to suit the number and size of people you wish to transport. Especially if the third row is used. We tested the space of the third row and with one of the middle row seats moved forward approx 100mm to see if my 6'1" 16 year old son could fit comfortably. There was an acceptable amount of leg room and plenty of shoulder and head room. He commented that he'd be happy sitting there for a long trip. Yet to be tested for real of course ;-). It has a large panoramic electric sunroof, with an electric shade...plus tray tables on the back of the front seats. All the glass has UV filtering and noise suppression so the car is very quite on the move. The side doors and rear tail gate are all electrically, and therefore remotely operated, which is a big plus. It runs a 2.0 turbo petrol engine with a DSG (double clutch) gear box rated at 147KW and 280NM. Which is more than enough power for a larger sized vehicle to make traveling comfortable, yet I expect it will be economical to run with advertised combined fuel consumption around 8.4 litres/100km. We're incredibly happy with our purchase and believe we will be for a long time to come.
